I’m always keeping my eye out for useful and unique baby gifts that are fast and inexpensive to craft. So when I saw this on Pinterest, I knew just had to make some for my little niece Mary Frances.
The original directions are on the wonderful blog Make it – Love it. But of course, I had to give it my own spin since I didn’t like how the elastic was seen on the back side of the ribbon.
I made these from strips of Bliss by Bonnie and Camille for Moda. (yummy, yummy fabric line!) The finished strip is just over 1 inch wide.
I followed the exact dimensions of the Make it-Love it pattern, only the strips are sewn down both sides with the elastic ends tucked safely inside. (reinforce that seam every 1/4 inch a couple of times so the elastic stays put)
I sooooo wish I had some of these when my kids were little. They used to throw their cups on the floor of the car, and I wouldn’t find them for days! We’d leave bottles all over town because they’d chuck them out of the stroller when I wasn’t looking!
